Terrestrial Distribution Community TV / Broadcasting
50-Channel DVB-T Community Network
Challenge
- A regional community network needed to deliver 50 channels of digital TV across a service area covering both urban and rural zones.
- The project required a complete headend chain: source acquisition, multiplexing, scrambling, modulation, and transmission — with the reliability to run continuously.
Solution
- A full DVB-T headend architecture: multi-channel encoders converting sources to H.264, transport stream multiplexing with PSI/SI generation, scrambling for conditional access, DVB-T modulation, and RF transmission.
- SNMP-based monitoring, redundant power options, and remote firmware upgrade capability were specified for mission-critical reliability.
Impact
- Headend and transmission chain planned for continuous 24/7 broadcast operation with centralized management.
- Deployment checklist documented in our engineering guide — power/cooling planning, IGMP/QoS network design, and spare module strategy.
